50% lower prices in Croatian hotels, restaurants and national parks on 16-25 Oct

ZAGREB, Oct 7 (Hina) – More than 250 businesses in the hospitality industry have offered their participation in the programme designed by the Tourism Ministry to offer lower prices in a week in the off-season, and 60 more applications are also being considered, Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac said on Wednesday.

The campaign called “Tjedan Odmora Vrijedan” (“A week’s holiday is worthwhile ” in an unofficial translation”) is scheduled for 16-25 October when local and foreign visitors are offered accommodation, restaurant meals, and admission tickets to national parks at 50% lower prices throughout Croatia.

The campaign has been launched by the Tourism Ministry for the first time to encourage Croatian and foreign tourists to visit Croatia’s resorts, national parks and other tourist facilities during the off-season.

Minister Brnjac said that the campaign would be conducted more than once a year in the future.

One of Croatia’s most popular destinations, Plitvice Lakes National Park, has joined the campaign and will offer tickets for 50 kuna for adults and 20 runs for kids. Normal prices in October are 180 kuna for adults and 50 kuna for kids.

According to data from the eVisitor system, in 2019, domestic tourists realised 2.4 million tourist arrivals and 13.8 million overnight stays, or about 12 percent of total arrivals and overnight stays last year in Croatia.

So far in 2020, domestic tourists made up for 1.3 million arrivals and 9.6 million overnight stays, which is about 20 percent of total tourist arrivals and overnight stays in 2020.
