Green Coast MGallery in Albania wins our Project of the Week title for its striking contemporary design, comprehensive F&B programme and private beach.

MGallery’s first scheme in Albania, this newbuild waterfront hotel looks set to take the country’s rapidly developing hospitality scene to the next level.

Accor eyes Albanian opportunities

Earlier this year, Accor announced plans to open the first MGallery hotel in Albania, having signed a franchise agreement with Green Coast Hotel, part of Balfin Group. Green Coast MGallery will be built on the idyllic shores of Palasa on the Albanian Riviera.

The 112-key property promises to mark a milestone for the Albanian tourism industry by enhancing the country’s international visibility, while also strengthening Accor’s portfolio in the southeast of Europe.

The French hotel giant reported that the company in charge of the concept design for this property is a “very prestigious architectural studio from Belgium”, but no further details have yet been disclosed. Construction is expected to begin in late 2021.

Inspired by the local culture

On completion, this new hotel will comprise 112 luxurious rooms and suites, combining inspiration taken from local traditions with a contemporary aesthetic.

Amenities throughout this luxury property will include a concept restaurant with breakfast area, a destination lobby bar, an executive club lounge, green rooftops and a VIP club, as well as a signature spa and a private beach for added exclusivity. Events will be hosted in a range of banquet and meeting facilities, not least flexible spaces at the beach, pool and restaurant terraces.

Green Coast MGallery is expected to complete in the second quarter of 2024.
