Revenue from tourism shows nearly 300% rise in Cyprus during AugustFor the period of January – August 2021, revenue from tourism is estimated at €777.0 mn compared to €235.6 mn in the corresponding period of 2020

An almost 300% increase has been recorded in revenue from tourism, compared to 2019, CNA reports.

According to the results of the Passenger Survey carried out by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism reached €272.5 mn in August 2021 compared to €71.1 mn in August 2020, recording a spike of 283.3%.

Compared to the revenue from tourism for August 2019 (€431.6 mn), there was a drop of 36.9%.

For the period of January – August 2021, revenue from tourism is estimated at €777.0 mn compared to €235.6 mn in the corresponding period of 2020, recording an increase of 229.8% and a fall of 58.2% compared to January-August 2019 (€1,856.8 mn).
