TIRANA (Albania), August 9 (SeeNews) – Spanish hospitality group Melia Hotels International plans to open four hotels in Albania – one in Tirana and three in the western city of Durres, on the Adriatic Sea coast, it said.

The company intends to open the first hotel in Durres, Albania’s second largest city, in 2022, Melia said in a statement last week.

The Sol Durres Hotel will feature 338 rooms, a beach club, wellness area, fitness centre and several meeting rooms.

Melia will further open two more hotels in Durres – the Melia Durres and another one under the INNSiDe by Melia brand.

The fourth hotel, Melia Tirana, will open in Albania’s capital.

“The company thus intends to introduce three of its brands and position itself as one of the leading international hotel operators in the country,” Melia said.
